From Sustainable Development to Earth System Governance - a view from the South

This paper discusses, from the point of view of the “South”,  international law and politics in the evolution of the environmental/sustainable development issue. The subject is approached from the point of view of the significance of the three main world conferences held in a period of 20 years, and the urgent need to improve environmental governance in view of climate change.
